About Parker

My name is Parker and I have been playing drums since the age of 11. Since then, I have been extremely passionate about the instrument, and am enthusiastic about all different styles of music. While I specialize in Rock, Pop and Jazz, I also have experience playing Metal, Latin, Classical, Reggae, Blues etc. I have studied with some of the best drummers on the music scene today, such as Pat Steward, Darrell Green and Jim Doxas. I have plenty of experience playing gigs around Montreal and doing professional recording sessions. I have over 3 years of teaching experience, teaching dozens of different students from ages 5 to 75, with all different levels of proficiency.

About the lesson

My teaching style is largely based around the needs of each student and what their individual goals are. I have detailed lesson plans to get each student to where they want to be. That being said if a student brings in their own material they want help with, I am more than happy to assist them with that too. I have experience teaching students of all ages, from complete beginner to advanced. I am also happy to teach any style the student wants to focus on. I believe that while learning an instrument takes a lot of hard work and focus, it should be balanced with fun and should be taught in an exciting, non-monotonous way. I am determined to get the results each of my students desire!

He’s incredibly patient and never hesitated to re-explain concepts until I fully understood them, no matter how many times it took, and answered every question clearly, no matter how simple it seemed.

While he had a lesson plan, he always included parts of my favorite songs, which made the learning feel personal and motivating. He would listen to any song I brought in and transcribe and teach it on the spot, which was so inspiring.

His deep knowledge of the material, combined with his supportive and encouraging teaching style, helped me learn so much in a short period of time. Every session began with him playing something cool just to get me excited, and I always left feeling more in love with drumming.

I highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn the drums.
