About Victor
I am currently a senior at NYU Shanghai, although during the summer I usually return to Spain to do internships and work. At my university I have worked as a learning assistant in the mathematics department, thanks to which I have gained experience teaching and assisting other students in their studies. Next semester I will be an assistant in the intermediate microeconomics class. Within economics, my main interest is in the study of models with frict and various equilibria.

My teaching method is based on the transition from the abstract to the concrete. When dealing with a topic I usually start with a broad look, and then slowly introduce the pertinent specifications to obtain a complete understanding of the concept in question. If I try to explain, for example, a partial derivative, I do not think it is enough to simply perform it and memorize the particular process that has been used. First I try to make the student understand the concept of derivative (and later that of partial derivative) in its most abstract sense, to then include each of the remainign analytical stages necessary to solve that particular problem without losing sight of the starting point and how to reach the right conclusion.
