About Kirby
I’m Kirby,
I’ve been teaching since 2007 and can honestly say, I still love my job. English is my greatest passion and I love sharing that enthusiasm with my students.
What I really enjoy most is seeing the moment a difficult idea suddenly clicks, watching confidence grow, and helping students realise they are capable of far more than they thought. Those moments are what make my job really special.
For me, teaching is about more than improving grades; it’s about inspiring curiosity, encouraging independent thinking and giving students the confidence to express their ideas with ease. Seeing that progress is what makes teaching so rewarding.

My tutoring is focused on achieving clear, measurable results, with particular emphasis on exam technique, reading comprehension and effective writing. I help students analyse texts with confidence, develop sophisticated interpretations, structure high-quality responses and use language precisely. Through targeted feedback and exam-focused practice, I equip students with the skills and confidence to maximise their marks and reach their academic goals.
