I am a qualified CELTA teacher, teaching English as a second language, I have worked in education and training roles for 12 years, supporting both children and adults. I love to support others, meeting new people and learning more about their backgrounds whilst supporting their needs.

I believe that where possible lessons should be learner centred, using discussions, discovery, and enquiry-based approaches, where the teacher provides support and feedback to the learners. I provide fun interactive lessons and believe that my learners develop both through learning and practice, practice makes perfect as they say, this is proven when learning English, because of this each lesson will have plenty of time for learners to talk and put their learning into motion, discussion points can and will be provided to support learners encouraging them to use target language. I tailor my lessons to suit the learners' needs, knowing my students helps me to choose topics that appeal. Change is key, varying lessons is a great way to make lessons more fun and motivational. Unless a specific plan is in place for a student all skills are taught, reading, writing, listening and speaking, I use both course books and authentic materials such as newspaper reports and podcasts. I teach both individuals and groups, this depends on the individual's preferred learning style, learning in a group environment can be very motivational and provide really beneficial practice time, both is freer practice and group tasks.
