About Nerys
I have worked as an English teacher in secondary schools for 16 years. I have experience of teaching in England and Scotland and have taught several exam boards including AQA and WJEC/Eduqas.
Being able to support students in realising their potential and further their skills is fundamental in my teaching. Building the student/teacher relationship is essential to how I work and making sure I understand the individual student so I can plan lessons to suit them is my absolute priority.
Ultimately, learning should be fun and this can sometimes be lost in the classroom, particularly with the pressure that students feel in today’s world. My online lessons are a place for you to consolidate any classroom learning whilst growing in confidence in new areas of English study. You should feel free to express yourself creatively as an English student while learning the skills that you need to pass those essential exams. The lessons I teach are 1 hour. But we all know that it’s hard to concentrate for that long. With this in mind, the learning itself takes 50 minutes. This gives you a chance to settle into the lesson at the start, with a 5 minute catch up, and then go over what you have learnt and ask any questions you may have at the end of the lesson. I want you to feel confident in these sessions and so each and every lesson is carefully planned for you and you alone. The learning is moulded to your needs so that you feel you are always gaining skills and developing confidence in the subject.
