About Lisa
I have been writing for 7 years, with a focus on prose and poetry. I have taken numerous composition, creative writing, poetry, literature, fiction, and nonfiction courses at many institutions. I am competing in a poetry writing composition with a manuscript of over 50 original poems that have been edited by other parties, revisions made in the hopes to be published. This is my passion and my practice.

My class will be workshop based. This means that there is original thought and creation as a student, diving into a specific form or idea. When the original draft is completed, there will be a process of revisiting certain areas that could be more eloquent, clear, narrative stylistic, or structurally sound. This process is difficult and hands on, however it provides information and invites practice for the student to grow and learn. Poetry is subjective, but the message of the author is always the main focus.
