About Emma
I am an Environmental Policy PhD researcher at Imperial College London. I studied Geography at Durham University (BSc Hons 1:1) and at Oxford University (MSc). I'm offering free geography lessons for GCSE/A Level students who might have missed classes due to the pandemic.

I base my lessons on the curriculum, and supplement these with additional case studies, reading, and content that make the topics more engaging, and help prepare students for further research (e.g at University) after their exams. My style is informal and friendly! My lessons are co-planned with the student so they can have more control over what they learn based on where they feel their strengths and weaknesses are. I think this approach helps students to be more reflexive about their learning. I couple this approach with my own assessment of their progress to ensure all the content is sufficiently covered. I want the process to be fun for the student, and for them to feel like they can have confidence in themselves and what they are learning - as it is them who has to sit the exam! Overall, I really hope to inspire students, through my style and approach, to think critically about the topics we study and develop a passion for research :)
