As a certified high school English teacher with over 11 years of classroom experience, I bring a deep understanding of curriculum, assessment, and the unique learning needs of each student. I hold degrees in English, Education, and a Master’s in Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice, which guide my approach to teaching with empathy, clarity, and purpose. I believe in the power of literature to open minds, build empathy, and support personal growth. I am especially passionate about diverse literature and the importance of students seeing themselves reflected in the stories they read. Through my teaching, I encourage students to explore their identities, engage in critical thinking, and use writing as a tool for self-expression and advocacy.
My tutoring approach is personalized and student-centered. I work to meet learners where they are, helping them strengthen their reading comprehension, analytical writing, and communication skills while also nurturing their confidence and creativity. I aim to create a safe and supportive space for students to take risks, ask questions, and grow not only academically, but personally.
With a strong belief in the importance of storytelling, I want to help students find and share their own voices, whether they are preparing for classroom assignments, exams, or simply hoping to become more thoughtful and capable communicators.
