About Robin
We are a non - competitive, family oriented studio. We teach our students dance technique in a fun, atmosphere without the pressures of preparing for competition. Our students become confident young adults that have no problem performing in front of audiences which gives them the skills they need to excel in school also. We give them several opportunities throughout the season to perform at Condors hockey games, Scottish Games, Relay for Life, county fair, summer recital and an annual Christmas recital.
I began dancing at the age of six and quickly developed a love for all styles of dance. I began assisting in tap classes at a very young age. Tap became my specialty. I began teaching my own class of preschool aged dancers at 16. I absolutely fall in love with each and every one of my students. Everything that I do, I do it for the kids. The dancers, all ages, are the reason I go to the studio every day. I don't draw a paycheck. I make enough to pay the bills. I always come back for my dancers.
Started training as a teacher's assistant at 10 years old, and my mentor eventually began assigning me my own classes.
I began training in tap at the age of 6 in 1971. I quickly fell in love with dance and added ballet, jazz, pointe, tumble, and theatre. I began training as a teacher's assistant at the age of 10. I was teaching my own classes by the age of 16. I have continually taught dance throughout my entire lifetime.

We let students try as many classes as they want during the first week at no charge to see what style of dance they prefer. Once they have chosen a class, we evaluate them so that we can place them at the proper level. We have teacher's assistants that also shadow the student to help them get familiar with the terminology and with the other students.
I have over 40 years of experience working with peers and students. There is not a type that I haven't worked with.
I have a dancer who has been at DDAC since I opened the doors. She was standoffish with me from the very beginning. She didn't take any of my classes, so it was hard to get to know her. This season I had to start teaching her ballet and her jazz classes. She wouldn't talk to me, but she would smile shyly at me. At the end of my classes, my dancers always hug me. I LOVE WHEN MY DANCERS HUG ME AND SAY "THANK YOU, MISS ROBIN!!! On one particular day, this beautiful girl was in line behind one of my regulars and hugged me for the first time ever. Now it is every week. I will never forget that hug on that day!
