About Cody
My greatest passion in life is teaching. I was born and raised in Virginia, and experienced great success at school and at university due to amazing and unforgettable teachers. I believe the most important thing is creating bonds with students to establish an environment conducive to learning. This is the foundation of my commitment to helping my students, whatever their abilities may be. I complete my undergraduate in Social Studies and Political Science and achieve my Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in History and Social Studies. I have been teaching for 2 years in various settings –small and large groups, both online and in-person.
I have always enjoyed have an impact on students' lives. I am not just preparing them for an end of the year test or to get an A in a certain class. I believe in fostering life skills that will help the student continue their education as well as becoming responsible adults.

I typically like to determine where the student currently stands in their subject. This includes prior knowledge, current topic they are studying, and where they are going in their current cirriculum. This will help faciliate the process. I also will determine what a student's strength or weaknesses are as a student. This will help create a plan for what we need to strengthening up.
