About Nina
I graduated this year from Cambridge with a Double First-Class degree in Geography, and am now keen to build on previous tutoring experience! I have previously tutored younger children (11+) in English as a foreign language, and have tutored A-level Geography (A*'s achieved across the board), as well as conducting informal lunchtime tutoring sessions at school for younger students (homework help, etc.) I have also mentored students at school with their Oxbridge applications for humanities subjects.
Happy to tutor in English Literature, Geography, Politics (A* A-levels in all), and also to help out with university applications (Oxbridge in particular). I am DBS-checked, and available online/ in person (based in central Oxford).

With significant experience in tutoring a range of ages (primary - A-level standard), I am pretty flexible in my teaching approach. I feel that it's best to approach tutoring in the least intimidating way possible - after all, we as tutors ourselves are not necessarily hugely different in age from our tutees! Therefore I try to get to know the student as well as possible in terms of their abilities, and where they may or may not feel comfortable, checking over all areas of the syllabus first to spot any gaps in knowledge that need to be filled. I also maintain a focus not only on the 'facts' themselves, but actively try to encourage a genuine interest in the subject - something that's always helped me personally in examinations, and which makes lessons genuinely engaging and enjoyable for students.
