About Allianna
I have been an English major for the majority of my life and have read all different types of literature like Shakespeare, British literature, Children's and Young Adult literature, Greek Mythology, British Romanticism, Gothic literature, and satire. I have studied the works of Shakespeare for the past 5 years and am in the process of doing an independent study on John Milton, the author of Paradise Lost.
No matter how many times I have read and studied a Shakespeare play, the message is always different. It's not just about the story itself, but how Shakespeare inspired many plays and movies today.
In my free time, I am always reading something and drawn to classic literature and I am willing to help those who struggle in understanding Old English literature and modern.

Lesson Break down:
-Introduction to the time period and history during Shakespeare's time
-Create reading charts (characters, plot, setting, theme, etc), to keep track of reading
-Create notes on what happens in each act and scenes
-Create a list of definitions of Shakespeare's most common terms
-Watch clips from Youtube to demonstrate different tones and how roles are performed v. reading the text itself
- Analyze and break down infamous soliloquies and monologues
-Read and analyze the play itself and how it relates to life today in everyday life.
Shakespeare may not be everyone's cup of tea, but without reading and understanding the bard, it is difficult to understand all old English literature. Shakespeare is easier to understand when it is taught in a historical, literary, and psychological way. There is more meaning to Shakespeare than just the story itself.
