About Khanya
Hello, I’m Khanya, a University of Cape Town student with a strong interest in education and helping learners reach their full potential in English.
I am drawn to teaching because I enjoy breaking down difficult ideas into simpler, more understandable parts and seeing others gain confidence as they improve. Throughout my experience as a school prefect, youth leader, and volunteer in children’s ministry, I discovered that I naturally enjoy guiding, supporting, and encouraging others in their learning journey.
I am passionate about English because it is a skill that opens doors academically and professionally, and I find it rewarding to help students improve their reading, writing, and communication abilities. I aim to create a supportive learning space where students feel comfortable, motivated, and capable of achieving real progress.
My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve their marks, but also to build their confidence and independence as learners. I take pride in being patient, approachable, and committed to helping each student succeed at their own pace.

Hi, I’m Khanya, a University student offering English tutoring for primary and high school learners.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and adapted to each student’s needs. I focus on building understanding and confidence rather than memorization, helping learners improve their reading, writing, grammar, and comprehension skills through clear explanations and guided practice.
I am proficient in English and isiXhosa, which allows me to explain concepts in a way that is easy to understand and accessible.
In a typical lesson, students can expect focused help with schoolwork, exam preparation, and targeted exercises to strengthen weak areas in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
