About Asha
I'm Asha, a writer, cultural critic, and Fulbright Scholar with an MFA in English and Creative Writing from Temple University, awarded magna cum laude. My essays and criticism are published work, not classroom theory and I bring the same rigor I apply to my own writing to every student I coach. I've taught and mentored at the college level, including an incoming Visiting Writer appointment, and I work fluently across English, Italian, and Swahili. Whether you're preparing for an exam, revising a college application essay, or need serious feedback on a thesis chapter, I'll meet your writing exactly where it is and help you get it where it needs to be.

My approach starts with your actual writing, not a fixed curriculum — I read what you're working on and build the plan from there: what's working, where the argument slips, what the rubric or reader expects. We fix structure and thesis first, then move to sentence-level style.
A typical 60–75 minute session: a quick check-in on what's due, a focused stretch on one skill (thesis-building, evidence, paragraph logic, citations), then live drafting or revising together, so you leave with real progress and one concrete task for next time.
What sets me apart: an MFA in English & Creative Writing (Temple, magna cum laude), an active career as a published essayist and critic, a Fulbright, college-level teaching experience, and fluency across English, Italian, and Swahili.
Best fit: students on a specific track — AP/IB and exam-response writing, college composition and humanities coursework, application essays, or undergrad/grad students needing editorial feedback on a thesis chapter.
