I am married and a dad of two girls living in Florida! I have been teaching at an independent school for 16 years. My teaching is not limited to the core curriculum. I love a socratic dialogue that helps students deeply explore concepts and ideas. Essential questions spark the discussion to lead us toward deeper understanding. Some knowledge in social studies is essential, and therefore, foundational language and concepts are important for students to be able to think beyond to broader ideas.
As an economics teacher, I stress consumer education and the importance of individual decision.
My teaching experience is 8th-12th grade and would be geared toward those levels.
I am especially passionate about the research and writing process in history. As AI continues to grow, essential skills in research, sourcing and corroboration, and writing are more important than ever.
