About Laura
My name is Laura, and I've been working as a high school teacher for two years, but I've been tutoring grades Kindergarten through College. I have an Associate's degree in Graphic Arts in Multimedia from Southwest Community College, a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of Memphis, and currently getting a Master's degree in Teaching and Literacy from UT Martin. I am a writer with experience in essay, thesis, novel, poetry, content writing, and news articles.

I am an English teacher who loves to read and write. I want to help you better understand grammar, literacy, literature, and creative writing.
A typical lesson includes a warm-up, a hook that connects you to the lesson, vocabulary, reading with annotated notes, actionable steps to learn our problems, check for understanding, and a short quiz to test your knowledge.
These lessons will be tailored to your class level or degree level. I have experience with elementary through high school, but I teach high school.
We can discuss what needs and goals you have for your education so we can create a program tailored to you.
