About Terence J
My name is Terence and I am a writer and musician. I have a lifelong love of literature - fiction, non-fiction and especially poetry. I have a friendly and supportive manner and a wide-ranging knowledge of western literature and I can impart my knowledge in an easy to understand way, without using intimidating or overly academic jargon and teaching methods. My main aim is to ensure my students are fully prepared for their ambition to become a writer and can offer pathways for their ambitions which are realistic and honest and above all inspiring.

About the lesson

I start with the basics—constructing sentences, grammar, spelling, linguistics, etymology. I then offer suggestions for writing examples, approaches to personal experiences and how these may be applied to creative writing. I insist on writing skills to be excellent before moving on to actual writing. I suggest reading materials and then discussions on the materials. Once I am happy my student/students are confident in their skills we then proceed on to their own creative writing lessons, and offer a very strict but supportive pathway for students to find their own voice.
