About Michael
Hello! My name is Mike. I am a 29-year-old graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, PA. At Lafayette, I received my Bachelor's degree in Government & Law, and played Linebacker on the football team - Roll 'Pards! I was also a Student-Teacher at Easton Area Middle School where I taught 6th grade Honors World History. While my degree is in Government & Law, I have spent the last 5 years working as an Engineer at various global Pharmaceutical companies. However, my passion has always been learning and teaching history. I am currently in the process of obtaining my teaching certificate to become a Social Studies teacher in New Jersey. My other interests include watching sports (even though I'm a Carolina Panthers fan...), playing golf, and hanging out with my friends, family, and Golden Retriever, Leroy. I have always found teaching and learning to be most effective when they are done in ways that students enjoy. Each lesson plan will be curated to the student's best way(s) of learning -- making subject matter easy to absorb, understand, and remember. For High School students: Lesson plans will include college-like assignments in order to ensure preparedness for future studies. For all levels: Environment will be fun and light-hearted, but heavily focused on the subject(s) at hand. I am a firm believer that having fun while learning produces the best results.
