About Tammy
Having over 26 years of teaching experience in Primary, Secondary, and Special Schools as well as tutoring online for the past 7 years means I really am able to create, adapt and teach lessons that are able to really help each of my students to understand, learn and apply the topic being covered.
I always endeavour to make my lessons engaging, challenging and progressive. Over the years, I have had the privilege to teach countless children, teenagers, and even a few adults! I am a very enthusiastic and passionate teacher in all the topics I teach and try hard to pass this on to each student so they too can fall in love with learning!
I aim to build students' confidence and self-belief whilst helping them to unlock often hidden potential.

I teach maths and English, from KS1 up to GCSE as well as functional skills.
I specialise in helping students with SEN in particular and am qualified to support learners with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ASD and ADHD.
I tailor each lesson according to each student- I believe that no two students are the same and so I always use the individual approach. Each lesson is 1 hour and is conducted on an excellent online learning platform.

Tammy has been tutoring my son weekly from Year 8 right up until today, the day before his final English GCSE. It initially took a lot of persuasion for him to have a tutor, but we were incredibly fortunate to find Tammy. Right from the first session, she made my son feel at ease and relevant to him. She took the time to really get to know him so she could tailor the lessons to keep him engaged. It was lovely to hear how comfortable he felt communicating with her, and he actually started to enjoy English. He could see the passion and enthusiasm she has for the subject, and this was infectious. He looked forward to his weekly lessons, and his confidence grew as he could see the improvements he was making in school. She made the lessons informative and fun and built up a brilliant rapport with him. Her feedback to me each week was really detailed and useful. My son has gone into his English exams feeling positive and confident he will get a good grade. This is amazing considering where we were at the start of Year 7. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found her.
She's really helped me improve my grades in maths and English, and I've been able to learn and improve on a lot of different topics! Her teaching is really easy to follow and is well-structured.
I cannot recommend Tammy highly enough. She has been an exceptional tutor for my son, Adam, throughout his English studies.
From the very beginning, she built a fantastic rapport with Adam, creating a supportive and encouraging environment that helped him grow in both confidence and ability. Her knowledge of the subject is outstanding, but what has impressed me most is her ability to challenge students while remaining patient, kind, and genuinely invested in their success.
Adam has always enjoyed English, but thanks to her guidance, constructive feedback, and high expectations, his progress has been remarkable. She consistently recognised his strengths while helping him refine and develop his skills further. Her communication has always been excellent, and she has been incredibly reliable, professional, and dedicated throughout.
As a parent, it has been wonderful to see not only Adam's academic development but also the positive relationship they built over the course of their sessions. She has been a huge part of his success, and we are extremely grateful for all the time, effort, and care she has invested in him.
I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any parent looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and inspiring English tutor.View more recommendations
