About the lesson

I am a qualified coach and mentor. I work with individuals to build their skills, knowledge and confidence. I develop critical reasoning and analytical skills, including the capacity for solving problems and thinking creatively. History requires intellectual rigour and independence of thought, including the ability to conduct detailed research. ability to construct an argument and communicate findings in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing. I help learners to formulate and develop their own ideas, to understand what is required of them, managing conflicts that arise, establishing goals and the steps needed to achieve them. I encourage reflection, helping individuals to evaluate their own performance, make necessary adjustments to succeed.

I graduated in 1983 with a 2:1 in Medieval History from the University Of Kent. I write Historical fiction about the 18th and 19th century. I also write on ancient Egyptian civilisation and religion.
