About Hetty
Hi, I’m HettyJo — and three years ago, I walked away from a life that looked perfect on paper, but left me anxious, restless, and constantly chasing more. Through traveling the world and meeting new parts of myself — often in turbulent ways — what has grounded me, again and again, is yoga and Ayurveda. Not just on the mat, but in how I live and move through everyday life. My life over the last few years has been about bringing those practices alive and remembering who I am beyond all the external (and internal) pressures. Through yuj (yoga), Ayurveda, music, and storytelling, I've realized that our growth and healing isn’t performative, it’s personal. We are constantly evolving and adapting, so it is essential that our grounding/playful yoga practice can support our 'becoming'. Because peace isn’t a destination — it’s a practice. My approach is mindful and holistic. I focus on helping you integrate yoga and Ayurvedic practices into your everyday life. Your journey is personal, and our sessions will be tailored specifically to your needs and goals. We'll begin with a consultation so I can understand where you are at in your journey. I'll then create a 6-week structured plan that incorporates fundamental asanas, pranayama (breathwork), mindfulness, and meditation. Alternatively, we can approach things lesson by lesson. We'll also explore Ayurveda principles and the mind-body connection, with practical tools you can use every day for a more balanced life. As a certified yoga teacher with international experience in Australia, Indonesia, Canada, and the UK, I bring a global perspective to my classes. My diploma in Ayurveda, the "science of life," means we'll go beyond just poses to explore how Eastern lifestyle principles can be used as a preventative approach to health in the West. I teach beginner to intermediate levels. All I ask is that you come with an open mind—this is where the transformative shifts begin. Remember that you're not here to become someone else. You're here to remember your authentic self, beyond all the noise.
