About Nicholas James
I am studying a GDL (Law Conversion) in Manchester and previously gained a bachelors degree in History at King's College London. I am familiar with the British GCSE/A level exam system, having been through it myself and I can help with the understanding of historical topics as well as how to confidently translate this into exam style essays.

I am looking for students who wish to hone the craft of writing convincing essays while not letting this become too laborious a task and thus ruin the excitement of the subject. I believe in ensuring students understand how research and essay writing skills will be transferable to further study or employment.
A typical hour-long lesson might include the following:
- 10 minute discussion of the topics, ensuring that all the facts and concepts are clear and answering any questions.
- 15 minutes to go through a marked written assignment, discussing what could be improved, with strong reference to the relevant mark schemes
- 15 minutes to introduce a new topic area
- 20 minutes to create new essay plans around the discussed topics, assigning new essay questions that can be examined during the following weeks lesson.
This structure may be flexible depending on an individuals needs.
