About Maya
I am a first year law student achieving grades 7 in literature and in language at GCSE and awaiting A-level results (A grade predicted). I tutored during sixth form (2 years) at my secondary school in the subjects of English Language/Literature and Biology at GCSE level. I helped students who were struggling in their studies (grade 1/2) to achieve high passes. I have tutored in both individual and group settings with all of my students successfully passing their exams (at least grade 6). I have previous experience of tutoring a student with dyslexia helping her overcome her academic challenges to succeed in English.

Initially I will work with the student from their exam board specification and the topics in which they find most challenging. From this point I will ask the student what type of learner they are so I know how to help them learn in the most effective manner as well as what grade they are hoping to achieve. I will push the student to the best of their ability and help them achieve the grade/ skill they desire. I will provide the student with exercises and resources so they can access ideas and discussions pre/post-lesson. I will be pro-active in responding to any correspondence to help the student in any questions they may have.
