About Sweatha

Namaste! I'm so glad you're here.
My journey with Bharatanatyam began when I was just a tiny dancer in LKG — long before I understood what this art form truly meant. Through my school years, I trained sincerely under my guru, performed on stage, and fell deeply in love with every mudra and talam.

Then life happened. Like many of us, I had to step away. I took a 5-year break— away from the music, away from the bells on my feet, away from the stage.

But Bharatanatyam never really left me.

It lived in the way I walked, the way I listened to music, the way my hands moved without thinking. And when I returned to it — it felt like coming home.

Why I Teach

That break taught me something powerful — this art form is patient. It waits for you.

And that's exactly what I want children to know. Dance is not about being perfect. It's about returning, again and again, with love.

I teach because I want to keep this tradition alive for the next generation. I teach because every child deserves a creative outlet that builds confidence, focus, and cultural pride. And I teach because Bharatanatyam changed my life — and I know it can change theirs too.

About the lesson

Bharatanatyam for Little Stars (Ages 5–12) — Online Beginners Class
Welcome to a world of rhythm, expression, and grace!
My online Bharatanatyam classes are specially designed for young children aged 5–12 who are taking their very first steps into this beautiful classical Indian dance form. No prior experience needed — just curiosity and a love for movement!

What Your Child Will Learn
-Adavus (basic steps) — the building blocks of Bharatanatyam
-Hastas (hand gestures) — making stories with their little hands
-Footwork & rhythm — developing coordination and timing
-Expressions (Abhinaya) — bringing characters and emotions to life
-Posture & body awareness — building confidence from the inside out

How the Online Classes Work
Live, one-on-one or small group sessions via Zoom/Google Meet
60-minute classes tailored to a child's attention span
Recorded sessions shared after class for practice at home
Simple home setup — just a little space to move and a device!
