About Ella
I am a keen reader and enthusiastic writer who has found English Literature to provide me with a vessel for a greater understanding of the world. The knowledge that I have gained in studying English in school and in University at TCD is something that I hope I can continue for the rest of my life. My enjoyment for English is the main reason for my wanting to tutor a student in the subject. Though some students may find English inaccessible, I do believe that every student can find a way to make the subject something both creative and satisfying.

My approach to the English syllabus for both Leaving and Junior Certificate is to cultivate an individual understanding of expression and lead a student into finding ease in commenting on texts and writing creatively. Through my extensive studies of English Literature I have found that creating a connection to the texts is paramount to being able to speak poignantly about them. Lessons are created based on the exam structure, split into paper 1 and paper 2 elements that distill the course into its core sections. I am readily available during the week to communicate with parents and students on goals and progress.
