Find your French tutor in Tamarama

You can make real progress in French without a classroom — if you know exactly where to focus.

• Grammar foundations: start with present-tense conjugations, noun genders and basic sentence structure.
• Vocabulary building: learn the 500 most common French words first — they cover the majority of everyday conversations.
• Listening practice: expose yourself to native French through podcasts, films and YouTube to train your ear.
• Active speaking: say words and sentences out loud to build muscle memory and improve your spoken French.

A private tutor accelerates the process by correcting your mistakes in real time and adapting lessons to your goals.

In Tamarama, expect to pay about $30/h for a French lesson.

The cost depends on:

• Your current level (beginner, intermediate, advanced)
• The tutor's experience and qualifications
• The package you choose (one-off or regular)
• Where the sessions take place

Online lessons are often more affordable while remaining effective.
