Book guitar lessons with expert teachers

The first lessons for someone starting out cover the physical setup and core mechanics.

• Guitar components: Identify the soundhole along with the neck to understand its physical layout.
• String identification: Standard tuning assigns set values to the strings when unfretted: E-A-D-G-B-E.
• Finger placement: Press strings firmly close to the fret wire using the tips of your fingers.
• Basic strumming: Hold a pick between your index finger and strum across the strings with loose wrist motion.

Master these fundamentals first to avoid bad habits that become hard to fix.
