About Toby
My name is Toby and I have played the drums for over ten years. I currently play in the instrumental progressive-rock band 'Aeones' and have been teaching for two years.
After teaching myself drums from the age of 14, I went to university and studied music performance, specialising in the drums. This course gave me a lot of experience playing on stage with other musicians, as well as making me a more rounded musician in general and expanding my music knowledge.
As well as playing the drums, I also played the baritone horn until I was 18 and played in local orchestras.

When it comes to teaching, my approach is simple: you are going to learn a lot more if you enjoy it.
That’s why I make sure that my students are focused towards wherever they want to go on the drums. If it’s a particular genre, skill, or song you want to learn, I will cater our lessons to push you in that direction.
I have two years experience teaching drums and have taught brand new budding drummers to drummers ready to start their professional career.
Lessons typically take around an hour from arrival.
