About Grace
I have been working with young people for several years, in numerous academic settings and activities based programmes within the UK. I am DBS checked, and most importantly enjoy making lessons dynamic and constructive, whilst igniting a passion for thinking deeply about literature.
Building a good relationship with my students is very important to me, and celebrating their successes is something I find deeply fulfilling. I have tutored students with a wide range of abilities, and I'm proud to say that I have a 100% pass rate on all exams!
I have recently gone through the A level syllabus, and achieved five A*s, including English Literature, and I'm now studying Arabic at Oxford University. As such, I am sympathetic with the current pressures students are facing within school, and come from a place of experienced understanding regarding both preparing students for exams, and having gone through them myself.
In addition to English, I have also taught Religious Studies GCSE (AQA), and Philosophy and Ethics A level (OCR), as well as aiding with university applications and providing mock interviews for university candidates.

I am a dynamic tutor, who tailors lessons to suit the needs of the student. This can range from proof-reading written work, preparation for exams, course-work, essay methodology and revision, to close inter-textual analysis and taught content.
Through flexibility and a good understanding of my students, I offer high level lesson plans that are designed to build personal and academic confidence, as well as targeting areas of difficulty, alongside igniting and expanding a love for English. Whether it is cramming for exams, comprehending class topics, or pushing boundaries of literature beyond exam boards, or to obtain the highest grades, my aim is to assist in articulating ideas, and to bring out the best work of each individual student.
Ultimately, literature is designed to be appreciated, enjoyed and discussed. In order to best understand how to best help my students, I like to use the first session to get to know them and where they are academically in order to gauge where my help is required. From there, we can form a plan together, based on the desired outcome for the student, both in short and long term goals. Based on the individual student's learning methods, my sessions can run between 1-2 hours.
