About Alvaro

My name is Álvaro Ruiz José, and I’m a passionate and dedicated educator from Spain. I hold two Bachelor’s Degrees in History and Geography and Land Management, as well as a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education, specializing in Geography and History. I completed my teaching placement in a Spanish secondary school, where I taught students aged 12 to 16 and developed a strong commitment to student learning and well-being. I also have several years of experience working with children in informal settings, which has helped me to develop a caring, patient, and engaging teaching style. I’m a native Spanish speaker and currently hold a B1 English level certified by Cambridge, which I am actively working to improve during my stay in Ireland starting July/August 2025. I’m an open-minded, independent person with a strong motivation to share knowledge and help others succeed. I believe learning should be meaningful, supportive, and adapted to each student’s rhythm and needs. I’m here to help students feel confident and make real progress in their studies.

About the lesson

As a qualified secondary school teacher with university degrees in History and Geography, and a Master’s Degree in Education, my teaching approach is structured, supportive, and adapted to each student’s learning pace and needs. I focus on: Explaining concepts clearly and interactively Using real-world examples and visual materials Encouraging critical thinking and autonomy Providing regular feedback and progress tracking Lessons typically last 60 minutes, but can be adjusted depending on the student's needs. I have experience working with students aged 12 and up, mainly at secondary school level, and I also support adult learners and students preparing for exams or improving their Spanish. Whether you’re looking to strengthen school subjects like Geography, History or Art History, or want to improve your Spanish with a native speaker, I provide tailored lessons to help you achieve your goals. I'm based in Ireland from July 2025 onwards and available for in-person or online lessons, with afternoon availability for consistent and flexible follow-up.
