About Ellie
Hi! I’m Ellie. I have been helping people with English Literature since I was in Year 9, a good few years ago, when analysis confused my fellow classmates or when poems didn’t quite make sense. Shakespeare isn’t a trouble for me at all!
I am used to the tricky analysis of English Literature & the balance of comparing two texts, not to mention looking into the finer details that just get you those extra marks. Context is also extremely important, which we can go over together & make links as to why it would be so relevant to your text. I graduated with an A in English Lit and I really hope I can show some of my knowledge with you & it’s beneficial.

I will start our lessons together by first establishing what it is that you want from these lessons. Whether it’s wrapping your head around a concept or whether you’re looking for ways to improve your grades, I will personalise each session so your confidence & skill will increase bit by bit!
I value a working relationship above all, and will encourage conversation and independent thinking and opinions about the text we will go over together. This is important, as we can turn your words into an answer very easily as long as we work together!
The length of the lesson depends on you! Each lesson can be tailored and changed to your liking, I am happy to do half an hour to two hours. However a typical lesson is 1 hour, but again I am happy to alter this to suit your needs and what you wish to get out of the lesson.
I aim to teach GCSE students or A Level students struggling or wanting a little extra help with English Lit. I obtained an A in my own exam results, and would be delighted to help guide you on a similar track!
