About Me I hold two Master’s degrees—one in Creative Writing and another in English Literature—and bring a dynamic blend of academic insight and real-world experience as a published author and investigative journalist. Over the years, I’ve taught at the university level across a wide spectrum of subjects including Criminology, English Literature, Victorian History, Creative Writing, and Film Studies. This interdisciplinary background allows me to offer richly contextualised lessons that connect theory to practice. My Approach to Tutoring My teaching is rooted in curiosity, clarity, and critical thinking. Whether I'm guiding a student through the intricacies of a Victorian novel, helping them shape a compelling narrative voice, or exploring cultural themes in cinema, I tailor my approach to fit the learner's goals, strengths, and areas for growth. I prioritise discussion-based learning, close textual analysis, and creative problem-solving. I also encourage students to challenge assumptions, ask difficult questions, and develop their own voice—whether in academic essays or creative work. Lesson Structure A typical lesson runs between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student's needs and attention span. I provide structured yet flexible sessions that combine instruction, discussion, and practice. For writing-focused students, lessons often include in-depth feedback and workshopping; for literature and theory, we emphasise context, analysis, and critical interpretation. Who I Teach I work with learners at many levels, from high school and undergraduate students to adult learners and early-career professionals. Whether you're preparing for exams, working on a dissertation, or seeking to refine your writing craft, I design lessons that meet you where you are—and help you get where you want to be.
