About Liam
Outside of teaching, I work as a writer and editor, and I’ve traveled extensively across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. I’m also a lifelong rugby fan and enjoy good conversation, big questions, and helping others learn in a relaxed but focused environment. I want to teach because I’m passionate about helping others discover the relevance and excitement of all things English. Sharing knowledge and seeing students gain confidence and new perspectives gives me great satisfaction. Teaching allows me to combine my love for learning, writing, and meaningful conversation while making a positive difference in people’s lives.

As a Psychology and Philosophy graduate with a TEFL certification and a background in mentoring and informal education, my approach to tutoring is student-centered, flexible, and rooted in curiosity. I aim to create a supportive environment where learners feel confident exploring complex ideas at their own pace. I tailor each session to the individual student’s goals—whether it’s exam preparation, improving essay writing, building critical thinking skills, or simply developing a deeper interest in the subject. I use a mix of discussion-based learning, visual aids, real-world examples, and occasional creative tasks to keep lessons engaging and relevant. Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, though I can adapt to shorter or longer sessions depending on need and attention span. I welcome students of all levels and ages—whether you're in secondary school, university, or an adult learner returning to education. Above all, I believe education should be empowering, not intimidating. My aim is to make abstract concepts clear, enjoyable, and applicable to everyday life.
