About Amy
Hey! I'm Amy a twenty year old Politics student at the University of York going into my second year. Aside from my studies I'm an active member of the Drama Society and enjoy horse riding, netball and hockey. Having attended an International School for some of my studies I love travelling and experiencing different cultures. My favourite places I've been to include Hawaii and Mexico though I hope to travel more of Australasia soon. I also really enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction, but my winning favourite would have to be Lord of the Flies, inspired by my English GCSE teacher.

Long term lesson plans are parent and student led to encourage active engagement from students with reflective discussions every 4-6 weeks dependant on goals decided. Lessons typically last for an hour split into a warm up / re-cap, skills task, actioning activities and reflective tasks to finish with roughly 30 minutes of homework a week set to consolidate learning. However I understand that all students learn differently and this timing and / or lesson structure may not work for everybody, hence a collaborative approach. I am experienced in tutoring ages 9-16 in English and 11-16 in English, Drama, Politics, History and Religious Education helping students reach top grades in SATS as well as GCSE's further through their education. Having worked with SEND children for over two years I am highly experienced in using 'neuro-divergent' learning approaches.
