About Alisha

A former Teacher of English at a Grammar School in Greater Manchester (Year 7-13), with experience teaching the AQA, Edexcel and Pearson I/GCSE specification.

I hold a BA HONS in English Language and a Secondary English PGCE (Outstanding)-both qualifications were obtained at The University of Manchester.

I have a detailed insight and understanding of the educational system, as I am an Examiner for AQA (GCSE English Language) and a Senior Assessor for OCR (A-Level English Language).

I cannot recommend and praise Alisha highly enough. Alisha is extremely knowledgeable, professional, approachable, punctual and reliable, and has built up a great rapport with our whole family. Alisha has worked one-to-one with my son this year as he had been struggling with GCSE English (Year 11). My son sat his GCSE`s and passed both Literature and Language. I honestly believe that without Alisha`s tuition the outcome to his GCSE results would have been very different. Thank you Alisha, you made the world of difference to us.

Helped to teach me new techniques for my English exam and went through what to include in order to get a good grade. Also went through many practice papers with really good feedback and went through other responses to questions to help me gain confidence in my exam and helped me to understand where I could improve.

Alisha is actually as amazing tutor. She is so personable and has given my daughter a completely different perspective and new found enthusiasm for English. My daughter does not give praise easily but she found Alishas help and guidance extremely inspiring . She has enabled her to look at the subject with fresh eyes and has taught her to answer questions in a way to achieve much better marks.Can’t recommend her enough

About the lesson

Teacher of English with experience in a Grammar School & GCSE English Examiner.
I ensure that the tutoring sessions enable students to practise the skills that are required for the exam. This practise leads to familiarity and therefore, an increase in confidence. Written responses are marked by myself and I will give guidance by pointing out areas to improve.
I also frequently share the mark scheme for each question, so that students can understand the elements and areas that examiners seek to reward.
