About Laura
I am a teacher on sabbatical to further my education. I have been teaching elementary school for 11 years, with classes containing as many as 30 students. Prior to that, I graduated from the prestigious UCSC with a gpa of 3.8 and a degree in Literature and Creative Writing. I have personally been a writer of poems and short stories since a child.

My teaching methods focus around Gradual Release of Responsibility: "I do it, we do it, you do it", then re-apply the concept to something else to ensure true comprehension. I also differentiate my instruction to cater to the different modes of learning, and take into consideration any scaffolding that I may need to incorporate due to language factors, etc.
