About Thor
I have been tutoring English for 5 years now and I truly believe it is my calling in life. I really enjoy engaging with students and I feel so accomplished when I see them grow. Many of my students I have had since they were small children and I have had the pleasure of seeing them develop their skills. I am quite flexible and always try to be cheerful. I have fun so I hope my students can join me!

I've been very successful with helping students become more confident in their speaking. I have students who didn't speak before meeting me, to now being successful in poetry competitions. My teaching methods are very relaxed and I am excellent at finding how to help students speak. I have a variety of topics and methods to encourage not only conversational speaking, but thoughtful and creative speech. I typically spend the beginning of lessons speaking about whatever the student wants. If they don't want to speak, I will begin the conversation with some leading questions. Depending on the tutorial, I have different lesson plans. If your student needs to focus on grammar, reading, spelling, (etc.) I have specific plans for their age or level. I have created many games on Baamboozle and Blooket to play to keep the students interested and engaged. I find most students who have a hard time speaking, engage with me when playing games.
