About Leon

I am a current BA Hons student at Loughborough University who is currently studying Politics, History and International Relations. I am a very keen learner and also an amazing teacher who is able to help students in a casual manner, hoping that this sparks a passion for History and Politics.

I am currently in my fourth year of University and am hoping to eventually move into a Foreign Policy role within the government to continue my love for current affairs.

My degree is a huge part of my time, however, as I enjoy both learning as teaching I was hoping to do this alongside my studies and maybe persuade more people to study Politics and History.

About the lesson

I would begin lessons by asking the student which topics they enjoy, and which they struggle with. We would then break these down and find similarities between the two. For example, the student may enjoy studying Current Affairs, but struggle to understand the concepts of international political theories, such as Feminism, Liberalism and Neoliberalism. I would help them to discover a cross-roads between the two and create an interest and understanding with this. I have vast knowledge in: source work; Irish History; European History; American History; the American and British Political Systems; the Atlantic Trade Route History; both WW1 and WW2; Cold War Era; International Relations; Current Affairs; Political Theories and Ideas.

Despite my knowledge in the above, I would be more than happy to learn any necessary materials that my students would be covering to ensure that they have the best possible experience with me.

Typically lessons can range between 30 minutes and 1 hour, however I would need a brief email prior to this so that I may prepare exactly what the student needs, and cater to their capabilities.

I have previously been a tutor for younger aged secondary school children, however I am willing to try and help anyone who struggles or wishes to improve their knowledge in these areas. Furthermore, I am happy to help those students who struggle with English Literature, English Language and Religious Studies as I have an academic background in all of these.

As I am a student I have a pretty flexible diary and am more than happy to cater to your needs to the best of my abilities.
