About Georgie

I am a determined, ambitious, hard working person - I also once severely struggled with English studies and had overcome this struggle alone - it's my ambition to assure no other students will feel the way I did, hence why I chose to help others. After feeling disappointed in my Mock results, I had a short time to change my ways, I can confidently say I worked hard and it paid off - I progressed by 3 grades in Language and 2 in Literature, leaving me with a grade 9 in Language and a grade 7 in Literature. I enjoy helping others, I am motivational, patient and understanding - whilst the reward for your hard work will be a grade you're proud of, I can't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to be paid to watch someone's confidence grow with the acceptance of my help!

About the lesson

Given my past experience in GCSE English and teaching my peers and students in other schools, I have found a fairly consistent method for achieving success. Typically, we will spend some time discussing the primary issues the student is facing and I will adapt the lesson structures to work around that - with literature, we will discuss the student's foundation of knowledge, usually this will build confidence, we will then work together to strengthen said foundation of knowledge surrounding the text and context and build upon it, with fun memory techniques and exam style questions. With Language, we will form a similar structure, strengthening and building on a foundation regarding language techniques, but we will also be doing a lot of creative and proactive interactions with past exam questions. Lessons will not likely be more than an hour per session, but it will likely be possible to sort a system of more than one a week, depending on the student's needs.
