About Rekha

I am a Chemistry tutor with over 9 years of experience and an MChem, specializing in atmospheric chemistry and environmental pollution. My passion is helping students understand how chemical processes shape the air we breathe and the planet we live on. I guide learners through complex topics such as smog formation, ozone depletion, acid rain, and the effects of greenhouse gases. My approach combines clear explanations, visual aids, and real-world examples to make abstract concepts tangible. I work closely with environmental science students, as well as those interested in air quality, climate policy, and sustainability. Lessons focus on connecting molecular interactions to global environmental outcomes, helping students see the relevance of chemistry in everyday life. I emphasize analytical thinking, encouraging students to interpret data, analyze trends, and understand the causes and consequences of atmospheric phenomena. Through case studies and practical exercises, learners gain confidence in both theoretical and applied chemistry. I also help students explore current research and policy implications, preparing them for careers or further study in environmental fields. Working with students to uncover how chemistry influences climate and air quality is incredibly rewarding. I aim to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of responsibility for the environment. Together, we explore the intricate chemistry of the atmosphere, learning not only to understand it but also to consider ways to protect it for future generations.

My teaching approach in chemistry is focused on making organic concepts easier to understand. I use a systematic and clear method to explain ideas, so even the most complex structures can be broken down into simpler steps. This helps students gain confidence while studying topics like organic chemistry nomenclature, functional groups, reaction mechanisms, and isomerism. Every lesson builds step by step, so students develop a strong foundation for future learning.

I also connect theory to practical understanding. For example, while explaining functional groups, I relate them to real-life applications in medicine, food, and environmental studies. Reaction mechanisms are introduced with simple models, and then gradually expanded to more advanced cases. By doing this, students learn not only how to solve problems but also why reactions occur the way they do. Consistent feedback ensures that gaps are filled quickly, and progress feels steady and motivating.

Along with students who are passionate about science, I work especially well with environmentalists and marine biologists who want to see the link between organic chemistry and their fields. I help them discover how carbon compounds play a role in ecosystems and sustainability. My role is to support each student in mastering these ideas with clarity and patience. Together, we will build skills that make organic synthesis and advanced studies not just manageable, but exciting.
