About Timothy
Hello Everyone!
I am from Los Angeles, California – a native speaker of English with lots of teaching experience and world knowledge.
With a two-year MA degree in Teaching English from San Francisco State University, I have lived or taught in over 80 countries around the world, in such culturally diverse places as Germany (12 years), Japan (7 years), Saudi Arabia (5 years), Thailand (4 years), and Poland (1 year). I have worked with children, young adults, and university students to meet their learning needs.
My introduction to teaching happened when I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in Germany. It was such a wonderful experience that I made teaching my profession. Since then, I have racked up 20 years classroom experience and have helped thousands of students achieve their academic potential!
Besides teaching, I am very well educated in many subjects. Moreover, I love adventure travel, especially kayaking, horse riding, and biking. A short list of my adventures includes kayaking the Danube (2400 kilometers), horse riding in Mongolia, biking Bali, and sailing the South Pacific!
Fun fact: I defeated a chess player who had defeated World Chess Champion Bobby Fischer!
