About Akriti
Hi! My name is Akriti. I hold a B.A. in International Studies from American University, with a specialization in the Middle East and North African region and a minor in Economics. My academic focus on Justice, Ethics, and Human Rights provided me with a strong foundation in international law and global agencies, while my secondary concentration in Global Development deepened my understanding of macro and microeconomic principles within international politics.
During my academic journey, I conducted a comprehensive research project in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., exploring the trade dynamics and economic impact within the Baltic countries. I also gained hands-on experience working with a young entrepreneur in Kampala, Uganda, where I developed marketing and development strategies for a floral boutique business. Additionally, my work with the United Nations and Vital Strategies, a global health NGO, further refined my expertise in international development and global health initiatives.
In addition to my professional experience, I have a strong background in tutoring students of various age groups. I’ve interned at a primary school and have independently tutored middle and high school students, particularly in history.
Having lived in several countries, including India, the U.A.E., Sudan, and Kenya, I bring a diverse perspective to international politics and world history. My passion for history also led me to pursue advanced courses during my time at American University, further enriching my academic and personal understanding of global affairs.
