About Abhishikta

I am a Kathak dancer, received CCRT scholarship from Ministry of Culture, India. I participated in various festivals all over India namely, Konark Dance Festival, Puri Beach Festival, Asian Youth Festival, Jaipur Kathak Samaraho, etc. I attended several workshops under the guidance of the Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj and Kathak exponent Smt. Saswati Sen in Padatik Dance Center. I worked as a repertory member in many choreographs of my guru Shri Ashim Bandhu Bhattacharjee like Anant, Alo, Ghalib, Basudeva, etc. I presented my solo performances in many festivals such as Kathak Marathon, Nritya Prabaha, etc.

About the lesson

I start from the very grassroots level of the dance form and deliver classes according to the absorbing capability of the student. Initially, I prefer to focus on the grammar of the form and then diverge to the aesthetic beauty and presentation of the performing art. I like to give theory as well as practical knowledge to understand the subject better.
