About Dave
I’m an experienced Computer Science teacher with a passion for helping young people become more confident with computing and programming.
I currently teach Computer Science across a wide range of ages and abilities, from younger learners taking their first steps in programming through to senior pupils preparing for qualifications.
My lessons are patient, friendly and supportive. I believe pupils learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and are given the time to understand why something works, rather than simply being shown an answer.
I specialise in Python programming, problem solving, HTML/CSS, databases and SQL, and can support pupils studying National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Computing Science, as well as GCSE and A-Level Computer Science.
Every pupil is different, so I adapt lessons to their individual needs. Whether a pupil is struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an assessment or simply wants to become a better programmer, my aim is to build their understanding, confidence and independence.
