About Abi

Less of the formalities -- Hi, I'm Abi! I am 20 years old and about to graduate! In the future, I'm not quite sure where I'd like to be. I love to travel and would like to think that I could settle down with a nice writing job somewhere. But who knows :)

My reasoning for being here is because I know how much of a struggle A-Levels can be. But I also know how rewarding the results are when you open that envelope at the very end. I worked tirelessly for my grades in sixth-form and now I look back on those two years with great memories. I spent hours designing colourful mindmaps and flashcards to help me learn, days pulling apart marking schemes to cut out the 'waffle' that my teachers always ranted about, and now I want to help you do the same!

I'm very sociable, so no need to feel awkward around me. Whether at your home or online, you should always feel comfortable and willing to talk to me/ask me about whatever you'd like. I very much look forward to talking to anybody who takes an interest in this ad!

About the lesson

My lessons are typically aimed at A-Level students, whether in their first or second year, who are struggling or need an extra hand in reaching those top levels in History, Gov&Pol and Geography.

I will focus not only on content, but also on providing easier and enjoyable ways to revise whilst helping students dissect the marking schemes to figure out exactly what they need to do in exam situations. This is something I know to be quite difficult, but I had a great mentor in college and would love to help others in the same way.

A lesson will typically last one hour, but I find that the content covered is best suited to each individual student. For myself, information retention was much harder than mastering the perfect 'essay voice'. However, others may find that they struggle opposite to this. Whatever the issue, I am confident that I can work towards a solution best for you as I did tirelessly with myself.

QUALIFICATIONS: I passed my A-Level exams with an A* in Government and Politics, an A* in Geography and an A in History. I then proceeded to study History and Politics at Queens University Belfast, where I also spent a year in Germany (University of Konstanz). Here, I am expected to graduate with a First.
