About Amanda
I've been a reader, writer, and student for what feels like my entire life, which isn't that long, but you know what I mean. I'm in an English masters program at the time being, and have my BA in Creative Writing-Nonfiction from UCR. I love modernist literature, essay writing, being outside, incessant joking, helping others, and animals, even of the bovine variety. I write kick ass papers and oddly enough, enjoy doing it. I'm an Honors student, a Dean's list frequenter, and I am genuinely passionate about English, Literature, and Creative Writing. Need help with your horrible English world related work? I tend to focus on interpersonal communication and collaboration. This no doubt sounds incredibly boring to the average person, so to put it more simply and to jazz it up, I like talking to, getting to know, and working together with my tutees. Tutoring sessions/Classes/Workshops don't have to be some stale, uncomfortable environment where everyone wants to take a siesta mid-class. I enjoy joking around and getting to know the people I help, as this allows for open communication, which is essential in working together. I also prefer tutees to be blunt with me, tell me what you're concerned about, don't dance around it, and don't ever be embarrassed. Writing is a learning process, one that doesn't stop until your heart does.
