About Joshua
My name is Josh. I'm a university graduate in the UK, now offering tutoring services in English, essay and creative writing. I'm a native English speaker who has excelled in English since young. Placing in the top 10 for the English Olympiad in high school. I furthered my studies by attending university where I specialised in Film, media and English.
In the past I've worked in the film and advertising industries both abroad and in the UK. I've worked as a script writer for short films and commercially. So I'm open to creative people.
I want my pupils to understand the process of problem solving their work rather than brute force or rote learning. I prefer to take a slower pace to ensure understanding and appreciate meeting pupils where they are at.

A typical session runs for an hour but can last longer depending on the pupil's needs.
Every session begins with a quick catch up with the pupil and working to understand what they are currently working on or struggling with. We then break down the problem into its parts and slowly work through them to ensure understanding of the problem. If the work is not complete by the end of the session it will be picked up next time.
I am catering for one on one sessions with older students in high school. This is a follow on from tutoring work I did when in person sessions were still possible for myself.
Looking forward to assisting students who may be struggling or just need a guiding hand.
