I am passionate about education and believe that it is the key to success. I am a confident, enthusiastic and committed individual and have excellent time management and communication skills. From my experience as a learning support assistant in both Mainstream and Special Educational needs environments, I have a proven ability to encourage learners at all levels, to achieve their potential by encouraging their enthusiasm towards education and emphasizing the importance of determination needed to succeed. During my A levels I was nominated as Head Girl which allowed me to work alongside both staff and students, educating both parties on what would encourage the students to achieve there potentials.
I have experience in working with children who have moderate to severe learning difficulties and physical, neurological or sensory disabilities such as hearing, motor and visual disabilities, as well as needs such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, Asperger syndrome and ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). My experience of supporting children with special needs, gave me the idea to do my dissertation on “what methods are used by educators when caring for children with Autism within a schooling environment, and how these methods help in preparing the children for life outside compulsory education.” Through this research project, I have further educated myself on teaching techniques that to could be applied to both mainstream and special needs schools, helping children to prepare for their future within or outside an educational environment.
I will try my best not to charge for travel, but according to traffic or transport we may have to have a discussion if needed.
