I adopt a student-focused approach to teaching and learning. The relationship is tightly intertwined. Student success is the only relevant measure.
I have 11 years experience tutoring students from High school, TAFE, 1st year university and adult bridging courses. I have achieved a double major degree in chemistry and biology, with a minor in mathematics. In order to get the best results from my students, I tailor my lessons to suit their needs.
Pprivate tutoring services for children between the ages 6-13 in their homes Identified the needs of learners and if necessary adapted course content and delivery style to meet their needs Assisted with homework and other class assignments Developed academic strategies to improve student self-sufficiency
All my teaching is conducted online via email and Zoom/Skype, which is very efficient for both myself and the student. My feedback is very prescriptive and I am also very directive in my suggestions of how to improve your work.
My classroom lessons are based on the need to ensure that students know that I am there to assist them/him/her on the 'learning journey'. I make sure that they know I am not there to judge, I am there solely to help ensure their progress. This progress is usually academic but increasingly it is becoming a social issue.
Direct didactic experience. Which is to say, teaching through concrete exposure to *why* things work and *how*, not just showing you a process to find the answer. (Being able to find the answer is a neat little side effect, though.
My teaching style is flexible. I have helped student that were behind is maths or physics by taking our time and working through the course step by step. I have also used my own deep knowledge of the subjects in order to extend the understanding of students already doing well.
My biggest belief is in the importance of a supportive, encouraging and inclusive learning environment where all of my students feel capable, comfortable and empowered to grow and learn.
The culmination of my varied teaching experiences has allowed me to form my own methodology/approach to teaching. However technically my practice aligns with student centered learning. Teaching in situations where the students and I did not share a common language has meant I have developed unique ways for us to communicate knowledge and ideas, particularly drama and role play.
My methodology will vary from student to student as I focus on each individual's personal learning preferences, interests, weaknesses & strengths. I mostly connect course content with real life case studies or immersive activities to ensure the concepts are fully understood. I will prioritise effective learning by going along the student's pace, even if they prefer to take things slow.
Anyone can learn! Because the mainstream teaching style does not suit everyone, my teaching methodology is individually focused and I place great importance on understanding where each student is at in terms of their learning journey. Learning requires to brain to be relaxed, so I approach all learning concerns with compassion and patience.
My teaching method is engaging and seeks to motivate the student to discover "learning" by contextualising wherever possible and breaking down complex tasks or questions into steps. The idea is to focus and achieve success one topic, one question, one scenario at a time.
I ask students their preferred way to learn and base my approach on that.
I have been following my previous subjects notes, tutorial activities and lecture materials for tutoring purposes. Most of the peers I have been mentoring have been benefited by the notes I provide to them.
I am currently studying at UQ in the Master of Commerce program with specialization in professional accounting. Through out my academic journey I have always shown great enthusiasm and results as the end defines all. I have assisted junior level school students to university students from with subjects from maths,English, physics, chemistry to accounting and financial analysis.
TEACHING ALL HIGH SCHOOL SUBJECTS WITH A PREFERENCE FOR THE SCIENCES AND MATH (IN THE HEATHWOOD AREA) My teaching methodology would involve viewing over the content of each week beforehand, addressing what the student finds difficult to understand at the time, and to go ahead and familiarise the student with upcoming topics also.
My teaching method is based on using SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Resorce efficient, Time-restricted) goals, with a core focus on understanding curriculum requirements for A grade results. I aim to help students become independent learners, with a better ability to make the most of information provided by schools.
My methodology primarily focuses around the student and their objective. I emcompass the most efficient and cost effective methods for my student's always prioritizing their knowledge and understanding.
I believe in teaching in the fun way. I like to deliver real time examples and teach my students practically as far as possible.
The best teaching method is the one that your students respond to. I can propose that direct instruction is best used when working with students below grade level.
My philosophy of teaching is to equip myself first with the latest trends and state of the art learning and teaching pedagogy. Identify the requirements of my learners and pass them the optimum strength to cope up with their existing skills to achieve their learning and development goals.
Its very creative i give u practical examples so you learn quickly and focus on daily practice of the units
As a university student who is currently majoring Law with Honours, I aim to help and guide students who have trouble finding the motivation to study, memorize or even seek help from relevant teaching staff to clarify their doubts.
I encourage students to take the lead when opening a session. The topic for a session will normally be dictated by where students are at in terms of their knowledge level and university requirements. If all students participate it makes for interesting and focused discussions. I act as a facilitator but am able to have input where knowledge may be lacking.
I believe that academic concepts are best learned when they are contextualised to suit individual needs and will aim to present knowledge in such a way that is suited to the student and their learning needs/preferences.
My lesson plans will be geared towards the particular student in order to help them in the topic they need help with. My rule is to first get to know the student so that they feel comfortable learning with me and are willing to be honest about what they can and can't do.
I can structure the lesson to suit the student. Group or individual lessons. The lesson can be on tutoring in the student's weaker areas and can include oral or written assignment preparation.
I am patient, guide the student, and help them find ways to decide on the answer. I am friendly and yet firm with learning. I usually find once they understand once answer, the confidence level rises, and maths becomes easier.
My method of teaching is based on how each individual student learns, I believe the best way for a student to succeed is if they learn in a way that they enjoy and see beneficial. All students are unique therefore each student will have a different way of meeting goals.
I feel teaching should be a two way communication, so I not only teach, but also ask questions and listen to students, to understand their thought process. Accordingly, I frame my teaching pattern based on students interests and knowledge.
