My lessons are student-focused, such that the material and delivery are designed in relation to my students' individual needs. I seek to use a variety of materials and media to enhance and enrich the learning experience. Most importantly, I seek to develop close relationships with my students so that learning is relaxed, enjoyable and rewarding.
My teaching method comprises of all the means to make the student understand the best of the subject. I start by making them understand the concept and then ask to practice and learn along with me teaching them the base and final outcome.
I base my support on the development of a collaborative approach to the overall practice of developed support, a collaborative approach that builds on knowledge owned by the student being used to help build the required understandings and practices. Students develop ownership by the use of this collaborative approach.
I approach tutoring by following my student's class homework and assessment schedules, then expanding to offer more advanced exercises and tests as required by the student. I offer comprehensive tutoring with a warm and encouraging approach, and am able to tailor each lesson to suit the student's preferred learning style.
My lessons are aimed towards High School kids, and University students. I like to gauge my students before I plan a strict lesson. I believe every student learns differently and I am passionate about creating a lesson which is perfect for my student. I aim to create a safe, fun, and compassionate work environment that aids students in reaching their full potential.
I cater my sessions based on your child's needs. I follow the NSW syllbus and assess where your child is at and where they need to go in their learning journey to meet or exceed learning outcomes.
Within my pedagogy I implement...
I will talk to you about what you want and think you need and then at the end of the first lesson I will make decisions based on what you say and what I think. I will then find some tasks to do together.
My methodology involves individualising lessons for each student. I believe no student is the same and I value the different strengths of each student I teach. I will take the time to get to know the student and plan an individualised lesson. I also believe it is important to keep their parents involved in the goal-setting process.
I firmly believe in differentiating set tasks and expectations at an individual level. Students too often have a wide range of learning strengths and weaknesses which does not fit a "one-size-fits-all" class. I work closely with students to identify individual learning abilities through written and oral tasks. This includes tasks such as essays and one-on-one conversations.
I teach by constantly readjusting my teaching style to the individualistic needs of the student. Whether they learn visually, hands-on or through theory I will provide suitable stimuli to improve their results and abilities. I can easily do mathematical sums in my head and am good at making up example questions.
I am a relaxed teacher with a style based on engagement and enthusiasm. I look to exhibit my personality as I teach and be someone the children want to learn from, which means I like to show humour, kindness, a personal touch and have fun as we learn.
I teach using a hands on, inquiry method to get students thinking about the 'why' behind their studies. I also use regular movement breaks as studies have shown this technique to be effective, particularly when working with younger children. I help students to gain the confidence they need to achieve success in their examinations and in regular classroom settings.
I believe in an ESL class that students should do most of the talking (so long as it's relevant!). Role-play and group discussions play a major role in classes for teenagers and for younger children I use lots of games and songs. I always start a lesson with a game (no matter the age) to recap the information learned in the previous lessons.
My lessons are almost always tailored to meet the needs of my students. This only changes with regards to group learning, where individual needs are taken into account, but cannot be prioritised due to numbers. However, I like to encourage my students to enjoy their learning and remove the fear and shame from the learning process.
My teaching methodologies are adaptable to the requirement of the students. I believe in an interactive learning system, where the perspective of the students is also observed. Additionally, I like to put students at ease, so that the students can feel the liberty to discuss any doubt or question that they have, without hesitation.
My teaching method is to help the student understand the practicality of language and make learning a fun session without any boredom. Learning should always be simple and interesting to a child and that is what my philosophy about teaching is.
My teaching methods vary depending on the age and requirements of the student. I pride myself on being adaptable to the individual needs of my students and work closely with them to develop a method that will optimise the outcomes of my lessons. Each of my lessons is tailored around the individual needs of the student and works to aid them in relevant areas of study.
My teaching method is student-centred and holistic. I understand that each student is unique and brings a range of skills, abilities and struggles to their education. I learn the specific ways in which individual students flourish and their behavioural patterns which hold them back.
I am a nurturing tutor, however, I don't like excuses, a growth mindset is a must in my lessons. Nothing is impossible and my lessons are geared towards those who would like to realise their potential in a safe and fun environment where you will be challenged and valued for your effort. If you are prepared to put the work in, you will reap greater rewards.
I am an experienced teacher and Educational Doctoral student with the time to spend one to one to ensure your child achieves to their potential at school. If it is a lack of basics holding them back, I can fill those gaps! If they are not being extended, I can help them grow and develop new skills and attitudes. I can help edit and refine any item of written work for most purposes.
I believe that every child is unique hence the one size fits all method cannot be applied. I centre my lessons around the student themselves and operate within their strength zone but outside of their comfort zone. I believe in constant improvement hence my teaching method involves using their strengths to improve their weaknesses.
When teaching, I focus on three key things in every lesson: establishing a growth mindset, effectively differentiating for each student, and ensuring my students feel valued. A growth mindset is when a student moves from saying "I can't" to saying "I can't yet". I work with every student to ensure they feel capable of improving, even if it's their least favourite subject.
I am passionate about student-centred learning. I believe in the intelligence of every person and work with people's strengths. I understand that learning environments are not always set-up to work well for everyone's learning needs.
My teaching method is based on positive reinforcement and encouragement paired with practical assistance and proven study strategies. My aim is to provide guidance, increase students' sense of accomplishment and overall capability, provide structure to study activities and keep learning tasks engaging in order to unlock potential.
I like to take it slow and make sure everyone is on the same page. Every class of mine ends with an open discussion forum.
My biggest aim as a tutor and pre-service teacher is to create a supportive, encouraging and inclusive learning environment where my students have the room to grow, learn, ask questions and seek feedback.
My teaching method is one on one tutoring/ video chat (skype or other) or via email. I can answer any specific questions on writing essays, English literature periods/writers and/or help to analyse texts. I can help edit drafts for English assignments or give information regarding any inquiry about certain poets and time periods throughout English history.
I am flexible in my tutoring style - I am available to mark homework or essays, help with assignments and exam preparation, and am helpful in going in depth through the prescribed high school syllabus (which I am familiar with as a recent graduate).
My teaching method is mostly casual. I am able to design each lesson around students individual needs especially young children.
